[brave knights and lovely princesses]

Childhood offers so many wonderful things, in my opinion the best of those things is the ability to immerse yourself completely into the world of imagination.

Growing up, there were countless days spent as fair princesses (played out by me and my friend Aubrey) captured in tall towers, guarded by terrifying witches or the wrath of wicked kings, pining away for our brave knights (played by Aubrey's brother David, and our neighbor Jordan) patiently waiting for our knights to slay dragons and fight armies, only to be whisked away into the sunset on their trusty steeds.

Now the two princesses and brave knights are older and have families/children of their own. Last week I had the chance to photograph David and his family before they set off on an adventure of a different sort. Dave and Jess, I wish you loads of luck on your adventures in Arizona and hope you'll return to visit often... I'm sure the sunset you are riding off into is a beautiful one.
